Chapter 5 - Black Worofu

The world around him started to fade in and out of his vision, one minute there was a blurred ceiling, the next there it was the inside of his eyelids, and then the ceiling again, he felt warm and comfortable and he didn’t want to move. His head felt fuzzy and heavy but it felt oddly pleasant, it took him a few seconds to gather his thoughts and remember what happened in his. Thoughts started to drift through his mind uncontrolled: The death of his parents, how he spent most of his life alone, how he had always ad to rely on himself to survive, how many men and beasts had fallen to his sword, how he came to be where he was, and what he was facing now he was stuck in this forest. The door across the room from him suddenly creaked open, he looked down from the ceiling and saw an all to familiar face appear through the opening in the door. He gave a dry sigh and let his head flop back onto a soft pillow, he opened his mouth to talk, he felt the words he wanted to speak come to the tip of his tongue when he said “Thop tharing and coime een.” His eyes widened and he looked at the door with wide surprised eyes, and saw her half blush and smile at what he said, he turned his head and felt all of the heat from his body rush to his face again. She’s and elf, you can never have her and do not torture yourself over it! He looked at the door again and gestured her with his head to come in, she gave him a look of surprise, confusion and nervousness as she sidled in and walked over to him and sat down by the side of the bed, he turned his head and stared at her, gazing into her eyes and not tearing his gaze away, he concentrated on nothing else but her eyes her emerald green cat like eyes, he suppressed the feeling of embarrassment and wanting to shout his feelings of affection towards her, he suddenly gasped as spike of pain pierced his skull. Please do not try to stare me out, it will only end in pain on your part. Anger and a headache gripped him as the spike withdrew itself from his consciousness, he stared at her again with anger in his eyes, she knew that he did not want anyone in his mind, it was the last place that was his own and he did not wish to share it. She looked back at him but this time she to had a serious look on her face, he shifted into a more comfortable position and sat up and leaned back and rested himself against the headboard, coldness pierced his back as he rested it against the cold wood, he breathed in slowly and tried to focus on trying to think of the words he wanted to say and make them come out write, she remained silent while he focused until he broke the silence “Why-did-you-save-me?” The words fell heavily from his tongue and he spoke without any feeling in his voice, she just looked at him and said: “When you are deemed fit enough, I will take you the person who can answer that question.” He nodded and turned his focus to his second question, he took his time in trying to get the correct words, he couldn’t think of how to put the sentence so he just said “Your-ears” and made a gesture towards his own, she gave him a look of concern and replied calmly “It wasn’t necessary to say and it would have put un-needed stress on your mind, since we last spoke you’ve been doing nothing else apart from wondering why I saved you and why I didn’t tell you that I was an elf, should you over exert yourself now, you may never recover” Silence gripped the room again as he just stared at the door “Once you can walk again, you are free to explore the village, you will be summoned when you are needed and also-“

Black Worofu (c) by ShadowLeggy The door suddenly burst open and it made them both yelp with surprise a yell suddenly filled his ear. “LEGGYYYYY!” something leapt through the air and crashed into Leggy sending her sprawling to the floor. His eyes widened with surprise at this thing's speed, he peered over the side of the bed and saw Leggy lying on her back looking dazed with a small being hugging her chest, his eyes widened as he took in its appearance, it was wearing a green shirt with a short red skirt, and at the base of its spine protruded a short wagging tale, he just stared at the being for a good 15 seconds before it noticed him, it sat up on Leggy’s chest and stared back at him with its giant brown eyes, he then noticed it’s giant dog ears on the top of its head, they then started to twitch, “Hello to you too Yuki, can you please get off me now?” His eyes darted down at Leggy who seemed to have come to her senses and pushed the little dog being off her chest “Okay wait for me outside i won’t be long.” It then wondered over to the open door, jumped and grabbed the handle, gave him a shot of confusion and used her weight to pull the door closed.
His head turned to Leggy who was now on her feet, he raised his hand and pointed at the door, he gulped and said “What the hell was THAT?” “Good to see you can speak properly again, and THAT was a very good friend of mine. She belongs to the Huo clan who have lived in this forest as long as we elves have, we have lived in peace and harmony and have agreed to join our forces for the upcoming war.” He shot her a questioning look “You will know everything once you are back on your feet and are deemed fit enough for what is in store for you, please you just have to be patient.” He gave an angry and impatient sigh, “And how long will it be before then, huh? Hours? Days? Months? Weeks?” “Only you have the answer to that, not me.” “That answer makes no sense what so ever!” She got on her knees and reached under the bed and pulled out a wooden draw she then placed it at the foot of his bed, she then pulled a small hourglass she then turned and looked at him with a blank look in her on her face, “Get dressed if you can and meet me when all the sand runs out of the top part of this timer.” Her tone had changed from a warm calm tone to that of being cold and emotionless. She walked over to the door and opened it, she turned back and opened her mouth as if she was going to say something, she then obviously thought better of it and turned around. The door began to close slowly as she walked into the corridor outside. “LEGGYYYYY!!” The small dog-like thing figure flew out from the right and sent her crashing to the ground with a loud thud “YUKI!” The doors then quietly clicked shut as he was left on his own again, only his thoughts of the upcoming events to keep him company.
